Our Mission Statement

Christ’s disciples…growing…living…making Him known.

Christ’s disciples . . . Being a disciple of Christ first of all requires our grateful acceptance of Christ’s redeeming love for us individually, as my Lord and Savior. Being a disciple of Christ involves a lifelong process of growing in our faith. We are taught by Jesus’ example to live out that faith. By living out our faith, we make Christ known to those around us.

Growing . . . No matter which phase of our life on earth we are currently in, we strive to be continually growing in our faith. This involves studying God’s instruction for our lives as found in His Holy Word. This instruction is offered to us in many ways…..through prayer, corporate worship, individual devotions, and Christian learning opportunities that are available to us. We are continually learning how to be more of a disciple and follower of Christ’s teachings. We are allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts and lives, shaping and molding us to be more like Jesus.

Living . . . Our grateful acceptance of what Christ has done for us prompts us to live out our faith and reflect God’s love for us, each and every day. We strive to encourage each other through prayer, fellowship, praise, and testimony. By living out our faith, we are modeling Jesus and pointing the way to a gracious and loving God.

Making Him known. By living out our faith, we are making Christ known to those around us….not just by our words, but by our actions and reactions.    This encompasses our family members, church, community, and the world.

Questions We Hear Often:

What time does Worship start?
Our morning service starts at 10:00 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour. We recommend you arrive a little early to familiarize yourself with Haven and to get a cup of coffee. We also offer seating during our morning service in The Harbor (except in the summer) which is directly east of the Worship Center. It is set up with a video and audio feed from the Worship Center. It is a more relaxed venue of sitting around tables. Our morning worship service can also be viewed via live streaming.

What can I expect during service?
Our services involve a time of singing, prayer, announcements, offering and a message from God’s Word. You can expect to hear songs that are a mixture of contemporary songs and traditional hymns.

How should I dress?
You may see dress suits to shorts and anything in between. Most people will dress in business casual.

Where is the Nursery?
The Nursery is located on northwest corner of the main building. You can enter through any of the six entrances and make your way to northwest corner. More information can be found on the Nursery page.

What is available for children?
On Sundays we have Children in Worship. On Wednesdays (during the school year) we have activities for 1st through 5th grade. More information found on the Children’s Ministry page.

What about middle school and high school age?
Middle School Youth Group is held on Wednesday nights for 6th – 8th graders. High School Youth Group is held on Sunday evenings. Both groups meet during the school season, with some additional meetings, Bible studies, etc. during the summer. You can learn more about Middle School and High School Youth Group on the Student Life Ministries page.

What about other ages?
There are several opportunities for you to get involved in the life of the church. Go to Adult Ministries for more information.

What are Life Groups?
You may read about Life Groups in our News and Notes and on our website. Our eight Life Groups are Haven’s Elder/Deacon “districts”. Instead of being arranged alphabetically, our Life Groups are geographical. Our Life Groups also provide support for members within and outside the Life Group as well as provide opportunity for social events.

How is Haven structured?
Haven’s leadership is made up of Shepherding Elders, Service Deacons and Administrative Elders and Deacons, Pastor of Community Life and a Lead Pastor. Haven has Ministry Teams which are responsible for every aspect of ministry within and outside Haven. A mix of volunteers and paid staff work together on Ministry Team mandates and goals.

What We Believe

The Lord our God is one, perfect in love and holiness, righteous in all His ways, and sovereign over all (Deut. 6:4).

The Lord our God exists eternally in all three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 1:1, Acts 5:3-4, Matt. 28:19).

Both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are divinely inspired, truthful, authoritative, the only written Word of God, without error, and the only infallible rule for faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:16).

After God created man in His image, Adam sinned and consequently experienced both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and, apart from Jesus Christ, are eternally lost.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, which is His body (Eph. 5:23).

God gives spiritual gifts to each and every believer that are to be used for the common good (1 Cor. 12:7).

As each member of the body of Christ serves in a manner that honors Christ and harmonizes with his or her spiritual gifts, the Church is built up in love (Eph. 4:1-16).

The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin (John 16:8-11), regenerates (Ti. 3:5) and indwells   (1 Cor. 6:19) those who repent and believe, and energizes believers to witness and serve with love and power (Acts 1:8, 1 Cor. 12:7-11).

Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28:16-20).

Jesus Christ will come again (Acts 1:11)!
